Rainwater Harvesting – Techniques and Technologies

A Guest Lecture by Ar. Nandan Mungekar was conducted in the second year studio, 2nd floor, at 2P.M onwards in B.R. Harne College of Architecture, Karav, Vangani.

Ar. Nandan Mungekar is a qualified Architect, Interior Designer, Engineer, Town planner, Environmentalist and Government Approved Valuer, and also a faculty member & visiting professor at Academy of Architecture, Rachana Sansad, Mumbai, I. E. S. College of Architecture, Mumbai. He has authored a book on environment Studies. “USE, MISUSE & ABUSE OF HILLS AND ITS IMPACT ON CITY DEVELOPMENT – A CASE STUDY IN AND AROUND MUMBAI”. The said work was given cognizance at the International Symposium of Ekistics in 1988.

The program started with the lighting of lamp and inauguration by principal Dr. Sudnya mahimkar. Ar. Mungekar explained in a very simple way how traditionally water was stored and then how is it highly feasible for today’s structures. He then gave a brief idea about his projects and then explained how technology is highly advantageous in eco-friendly architecture. Ar. Sanjay Shirgaonkar felicitated Ar. Mungekar by offering him a tulsi sapling.
