Study tour was organised by B.R. Harne college of Architecture for Semester-5 students under the guidance of Ar. Bhudev Yadav, Ar, Omkar Damle and Ar. Ashwini Bhosale at Bhuj- Ahmadabad- Jaipur in November 2017.
•Live Case Studies were carried out as following:
1.Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A), a public business school located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, which was the second Indian Institute of Management to be established, after IIM Calcutta
2.CEPT University, formerly the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology, is an academic institution located near university area in Ahmedabad, India offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in areas of natural and developed environment of human society and related disciplines.
3.The National Institute of Design is a design school in Ahmedabad, India. The institute functions as an autonomous body under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, government of India.
4.Jawahar Kala Kendra is a multi arts centre located in Jaipur in India. It was built by Rajasthan government with the purpose of preserving Rajasthani arts and crafts.
5.Pearl Academy Jaipur, which was awarded the ‘Best Learning Building’ at the World Architecture Festival Award (Barcelona, 2009), was set up 12 years ago to give an opportunity to young, budding design thinkers of Jaipur and the cities around to take forward the rich heritage and legacy of Jaipur forward with their ingenious thinking and bold ideas.
•The learning of Case studies pertains:
1.To Functional Programming—spatial needs and requirements, system performance as well as durability and efficient maintenance of building elements.
2.To the physical appearance and image of building elements and spaces as well as the integrated design process.
3.To occupants’ well-being—physical and psychological comfort—including building elements such as air distribution, lighting, workspaces, systems, and technology.
4.To the physical protection of occupants and assets from man-made and natural hazards.
5.To environmental performance of building elements and strategies.
